Exhaust Help please
Alright, so I have a COMPLETELY stock 1992 Camaro RS EXCEPT for the flowmaster series 80 muffler. That means a stock 305 V8 with TBI and the standard 2.5" cat back exhaust system with the stock exhaust manifolds. Now, the flowmaster I just put on recently, I don't regret it, driving down the road it sounds great and I love it. Very muscle car. BUT, sitting at an idle its quiet and nearly un-noticeable. I was thinking about replacing the stock 2.5" exhaust piping with the exact, absolutely exact same set up, but with 3" pipes instead. With the 3" pipes I'm looking for the medium loud and low rumble of a muscle car, and just a little bit louder driving down the road for a muscle car rumble. Any suggestions? My buddy Scott has a 1984 Camaro Z28 that had a 305(before he put in a home built 350) with a series 80 and 3" pipes that were stock and I loved the way it sounded. Will mine sound the same? Thanks for the help!

Re: Exhaust Help please
new mufflers do take a little time to "break in" and get their tone. Usually only a couple weeks though. The cam will also play a big role in the sound of the exhaust, and the TBI isn't really all that big from factory. However, a 3" catback setup will add some noise to an otherwise stock setup.

3in catback with Dyno Don's headers will do the trick and pick up about 25hp.
