I'm looking at buying a set of ceramic coated Long Tubes for my L-98 but was curious if anyone was having clearance issues with Eibach Sportline springs? Here are the headers I'm looking at...

I have a brand new Magnaflow catback that will be installed once I purchase a set of headers. Whats the general opinion in header selection? My prior car was a 2001 SS and it was lowered with pro kits and had Pacesetter LT's with no rubbing issues. Just want to make sure I'm not dragging on every pot hole on the road with my third gen. I've never owned a third gen with long tubes, the prior two had mid length headers so I'm not sure how low they hang below the frame rails. This is a track / street car so it will see some autocrossing and occasional road racing. Thanks for any guidance you can give me, prefer from people with actual experience with Long tube headers on lowered cars.

The hedmans actually tuck right up into the frame rails, but unless you do something clever with your y-pipe or dual exhaust setup, you're gonna have to route them under the transmission crossmember. If youre gonna use dual 2.5's, measure from the ground to the bottom of your crossmember and see how much ground clearance you'll have left.

I suggest you either go shorties or get a T56 and build a double hump crossmember for it.

This is how low my hedmans hang:

Thanks for the information! I'm actually running a T-5 right now, wish I had a crossmember like yours for my car. But I think I can custom build a y-pipe for it seeing how well those headers tuck up beside the frame rails. That was my main concern. Thanks for the pic as well.

T5's are a little more complicated. The Hedman LT collector is in the way of the T5 slave cylinder. The T56 clears because the slave cylinder is oriented completely differently. You'll have to cut off the collector and extend it past the slave (maybe clearance it a tad) and weld a new collector onto it to make Hedman LT's work with a T5. But aside from that T5's have even more space than a T56 for routing exhaust. The guy who did my exhaust actually did an exhaust through a hedman LT/T5 setup where he ran the exhaust ABOVE the crossmember. Dual 2.5 inch pipes with dual flowmasters with stock-like ground clearance, amazing. But he recommended only doing that if you had solid motor mounts.

What if you use a lakewood scattershield (with no slave provision) and run a hydraulic TOB ?

not trying to hijack his post, but ive read that the ls1 exhaust kits can be modified to work with ours, i have the same headers and was wondering if this part http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-17534/overview/ could be adapted to work?

1 5/8" primary headers with a 3" collector are good up to over 400HP.. in a car like the 3rd gen Camaro, the exhaust that you have to run after it to clear everything and not be hanging an inch off the ground is where you will lose power.

When he buys new heads they will neck down to those headers. The rest of the exaust dosen't relly matter, nor will you lose power, thats just silly.
1 3/4"
Go big or go home-

I'm running inside the frame rails. Just made a custom trans crossmember for tight tuck.

Over 600hp here.

No 1 5/8 headers though.
