I have been bugging all of you for the past week with exhaust questions and I have just one more. I have decided on 1 5/8" headers. I have decided to stick with the Y pipe and just get a new muffler(mines rusty anyway). Question: Shorty headers or long tubes, what are our stock Y pipe's diameter, and should I go with 2.5 or 3 in collectors? Sorry guys, I am ignorant. Thanks for any help in advance.

aftermarket shorties require a matched y-pipe; the factory pipe will not work with them. before doing headers, you should upgrade the catback. doesn't help to free up flow in the front if it's bottlenecked after the cat
