2 Bolt flange to 3 bolt Y-pipe to headers

Car: 1989 Camaro RS
Engine: 305 Carb
Transmission: 700R4 Mild shift kit.
2 Bolt flange to 3 bolt Y-pipe to headers
I have a set of hooker headers. doesn't matter which and a Y-pipe. the headers have a 3 bolt flange but the Y-pipe is only a 2 bolt. I was at the counter watching the guy plug in numbers to make sure everything matched. Apparently not, theres a no return policy on special orders which is bull****. What are my options? I cant get underneath and weld the Y-pipe to the headers because I have no room to do it. Is converting the Y-pipe to a 3 bolt and option or is there something else I'm not considering?!?!?

Cut off the 2 bolt flange and weld on the 3 bolt reducer.
