L98 owners, help me with Y pipe

Hey guys, I am sixteen and got a 92 L98 Camaro. I need to keep my cats for multiple reasons, and I'm wondering what Y pipe set up you have used. I can't find a Y pipe for the dual cat setup anywhere. I am planning on installing new headers (shorties), obviously a Y, and a cat back. The only thing holding me back is the lack of a Y pipe to fit into these two cats. If you guys can give me any advice on how you set up your headers and Y while keeping the cats, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

from my previous knowledge, you will have to go get one custom made, or do a header swap with a premade y pipe for dual cats. There was something i read a while back that slp made a y pipe for dual cat cars with stock manifolds. I have seen just the y pipe for dual cat cars sold online but there is some welding involved from what i read.

Flowmaster make one. The Y-Pipe goes after the cats into the 3in cat-back.

I need a Y pipe to go into my headers. The end portion of the Y has to be two separate pipes I believe to go into the two cats.

SLP did make one, as I had one. I recently sold it, and now am sorry that I did (bought another car...). Nice piece. No longer made though...

Read my post again. Two pipes from the headers first, then the cats, then the Y-Pipe.

Do a search for Dyno Don, he makes a very nice set of headers and a dual cat Y pipe all in stainless for your car.

Dyno Don's are the best set of smog legal shorties that are 1 3/4in you can buy for our cars. They will net your rear wheel HP up to 255whp. ItsMikey 89 GTA with Dual cats made 251whp and with a Magnaflow cat-back and a chip tune. His engine is bone stock. All other shorties are 1 5/8in. His headers have smog tubes.

Messaged Dyno Don and thats exactly what I need. He has ones with AIR and ones without it. Does my car need the AIR system?

Only if your car gets tested and inspected. It sounds like you need the converters soo better keep the AIR.
Cars don't "need" it but tree huggers think they do.

Re: L98 owners, help me with Y pipe

I live in Oklahoma. Absolutely no inspection for smog legal equipment on cars. I'm only keeping the cats because of my dad. He wouldn't know a thing about AIR, or lack their of. So how do I eliminate the AIR system. Do I just leave it off and done deal, or do I have to plug my cats cause I heard that the AIR system plugs into the cats?
