EGR valve questions?

ok, hope this is in the right spot. what kind of egr valve came stock on third gens? specifically 305 lg4 engines (carb). ported, positive backpressure, or negative backpressure? as far as ive read and learned from asking around i should run a positive backpressure egr valve on my engine and i cant seem to figure out how to tell the kinds apart. would anyone have an ac delco part number for a positive backpressure egr valve that would fit an lg4? thanks!

Out of an 88 Firebird service manual. Should be similar. Hope it helps.

Re: EGR valve questions?

thanks for the tip! looked at mine today, it is a negative one. the question is, where to find a positive one? on rock auto it looks like some of the aftermarket ones are positive, but nobody specifically lists it and i dont want to go by just the photo =P
