HELP choosing headers

I have a 305 TPI with Crane Cams 104224. I would like to get headers.
We don't have any kind of inspection so the only two things I wan is performance and price as low as possible. :-))))
I'm also wondering if it's ok to put just straight pipes after the headers?
The car won't be tuned afterwards.
Any suggestions are welcome and much appreciated.

Thanks,
Revaz

Re: HELP choosing headers

OK, i baught those flowtech headers and needless to say i had fitting issues, the right header rides the frame. if you run strait pipes back it will be VERY loud, and if you drive down the highway you will have to yell to talk to your passanger cuz of the bad drone. my advice if spend the money and get a good set of headers complete with y-pipe. save yourself the headache later..... trust me, i went cheap and now im just gonna re-do it and sell my flowtechs later.

Re: HELP choosing headers

It all comes down to "you get what you pay for". The cheapest set of headers you can find will be just that, cheap. If you don't have the cash to buy something descent at the moment i would save up a bit and make the purchase worth it.
I recently did a whole system from the headers back and i cringed at the price when i spent the money. But looking back i'm glad i did the right thing and bought the right stuff. I got a set of hooker headers with the Y, a magnaflow 3" cat and a magnaflow 3" cat back system. Everything was very high quality and had no fitment issues, nothing needed modified. I could have done the same thing for half of what i spent but i wouldn't have had the quality and correct fitment.
You don't have to get the same stuff as me, as there are other options from other very good manufacturers out there.

Re: HELP choosing headers

Hedman makes a good set of long tubes with a y pipe all price ranges from basic painted to siver ceramic coat. Reasonable.

I have a set of Hedman headers. The problem I have is getting access to the plugs because the 3 on the right are blocked I can't get a socket in there.
