True duals or y-pipe 1in 2 out?
I know theres a issue with installing duals on a third gen due to clearance issues.. but as of right now my car has a perfectly good 3" flowmaster cat-back exhaust (headers, ypipe, 1 in 2 out) but its just to quiet for me... and i cant help but think that its robbing me of a few hp..... other than sound would upgradeing to "true duals" help HP at all?

Run a magnaflow. Do you have headers? Flowmasters were plenty loud on my L03 TBI car, but it had a gutted cat so that might have something to do with it.
Just dont do anything silly like straight piping it.

You always can go with an electric cut out , loud is not always a good thing...
Also true dials adds a lot of extra weight and with a good 3" system will do just as good

Thanks for your input, bud. i was told a few diffrent things... like the y-pipe 3" catback is just as good as true duals performance wise. then i was told the opposite.

IIRC, the 3" single piple flows around 5cfm less than a true dual set up with 2.5" pipes. The difference is maybe 1hp.
