Re: custom flowmaster exhuast finally done

okay hi to all i have an 89 camaro 305 tbi and i was wondering if i could use the flowmaster 10 series muffller 1 inlet with dual outlets even though its not a crossflow muffler, i intend on hooking the cat pipe to one of the dual outlets and have a pipe running out of the other outlet and another pipe running out of the inlet like the crossflow setups. will this work Please give FEEDBACK!!

it probably would work but it would sound like crap because your putting the inlet in the outlet and it would be stupid loud because its a 10 series

Re: custom flowmaster exhuast finally done

well if i put the cat pipe in the single inlet do u think id have enough room to run 2 pipes out of the outlets to out the back of the car to simulate true duals

that should work, it would be easiest to run them under the axle but if you want it to look factory you would need to run them over the axle, you might run into some clearance issues

Re: custom flowmaster exhuast finally done

in your opinion what would be the best way to set up the muffler with dual pipes from the outlets? also are you talking about ground clearance issues if i run the pipes over the axle?? or are you sayin their may not be enough room to run both pipes over the axle? thank you for the feed back i just want to make sure i do this right

because its a 10 series witch is pretty small i would run pipe to the back in the stock location and put the muffler in the back also in the stock location and just run some pipe off of the outlets to the tips, that way you stay in the stock location until behind the muffler

Right, factory until the muffler, but it doesnt have to be sideways because a 10 series is so small

Re: custom flowmaster exhuast finally done

If I understand what you are trying to do correctly,if you mount the 10 series in stock location, your dual outlet will be facing the drivers side. it would be a pain trying to route a tip to the passengers side location with that little of room for the 180 degree bend it would have to make. There's nothing wrong with exiting the tips on the drivers side of the rear and it would be much easier to do.

like i said it wouldnt have to be sideways you could have the muffler face the back of the car so it would be much easier to do the duals out the back but you would have to modify the cat pipe to get the muffler in the right direction

That is how SLP did the 1992 Firehawk exhaust.

But you know? You REALLY should have started your own thread to ask instead of hijacking somebody else's thread. Since the OP seems to have no problem with it? I'm helping you out with that pic above but......

Re: custom flowmaster exhuast finally done

And since you're going for the 'dual' look just for appearance purposes, that bird's exhaust above looks real good. If you have any other questions or issues along the way or want to get some more 'go' to add to the 'show' of your exhaust (questions on headers, y pipes, etc), start a new thread like BlackenedBird suggested and you'll get more responses!
