Exhaust
Hey so I recently replaced my stock exhaust with summits 3in y-pipe and cat back. The car had 2.5 in system that was rotting out. I didn't do heads yet. I was not expecting the car to be so much louder. The muffler in the back is chambered (not gmmg or powerstick). There is also a loud drone at 1500 rpm. With the new exhaust it sounds like it it being amplified. The stock I heard the drone but it wasn't loud or unbearable.
So I was wondering if any body else experienced the same thing?

Re: Exhaust
also, If you put a resonator after a muffler (like the ones that have the stock flow or idea) I put in summits 3in y-pipe and cat back system. No cat. How do classic chambered resonators reduce the noise when it's put after the muffler (part of tail pipe)?. When the muffler is doing the work just before the resonator and the muffler is the one that "drons" in the 1500 rpm range?

Re: Exhaust
That's a chambered muffler for ya. I have had some Flowmaster 40's on a few cars and holy drone!!!!!!! On just about any OEM exhasut system the RES is after the cat and before the muffler. I'm not sure a RES is going to take away the drone, but it will quiet the exhaust dowm some so in turn it might help with drone.
