Temporary header fix

so today I found out my headers have a crack in them. I heard I can use muffler tape as a right now fix. Is there anything else I can use?

Dont know If I can weld them in the car. Could I get them ceramic coated and that fix it?

Re: Temporary header fix

I checked all over the pipes for cracks and I couldnt find any. I only discovered this after having the engine thouroughly warm, and being revv'd up while adjusting carb. A flame started on what looked like the last exhaust pipe, driver side before the collector

Re: Temporary header fix

If youbcqn find where the crack is if it is a crack you could probably use jb weld to plug it till you can take the header off and have it properly welded just my thought though

Re: Temporary header fix

You wont stop a crack by just welding it. You need to drill out both ends of the crack. Prep it, then weld it.
