I'm currently building a 383 for my 91 RS. The plan for the exhuast is to use hooker longtubes (2210's) and run a muffler off each header that just connects to the 3 bolt flange, then run from that down each side of the car (hidden, not outside the body) and kick it out in front of the rear wheels. Anyone who has done this, did you have clearence issuses? I also have lowering springs im putting on to drop the car 1.5"

It will probably answer your questions and then some. Some members have posted pictures of similar setups but their ground clearance is down to maybe 3". I have run dual 2.5" exhaust with a pair of Hooker longtubes and I feel the only way to do that was with a resonator, one that is only one inch larger in diameter than the pipe's diameter. I have heard the option of cutting off the bottom of the rear seats and welding a flat steel plate in it's place and that gives you room to put a real muffler on each side.
