Hooker 2466

I've got a set of Hooker 2466 headers on the way. I'd like to hear from anyone who actually has these installed in his 3rd gen. I've read conflicting posts that say yes they fit our cars and no they do not fit our cars.

Legality is not an issue in my case. I only want to know if they fit. I do not intend to use a Y-pipe. The car does not have to comply with any emissions regulations.

I already have a set of Hedmans that are 3rd gen F-body specific. But they are designed for use with a Y-pipe. The driver's side collector is not pointed in the direction that I would like.

If worse comes to worst I can always use the 2466s on the test stand but I'd rather use them in my 84 Camaro.

in advance!

No they wont fit. I just looked them up. They are for a Monte Carlo. Send them back and buy a set of headers designed for our cars. There are ton of posts on this board and in this forum telling you which headers will fit our cars.

They fit perfect for me put them in a couple months ago. Got the Y pipe too. Very close clearance to the starter. Happy with them. Did not use the enclosed bolts (bought grade 8 with split washers) and stripped them of the factory paint and repainted.

You sure you didnt install the hooker 2460's? Because those are the headers designed for our cars. I find it hard to believe that headers designed for a monte will fit our cars. There just is not a lot of room to work with.

Re: Hooker 2466

I ran another search and found a picture of 2466's actually installed in a 3rd gen.

There is a difference between what something was designed for and what something will fit.

The 2466's are not designed for our cars. The 2466's will fit our cars.

The fellow selling them made it very clear that 82-92 F-bodies were not on the application chart. He ran them into a custom made x-pipe, which is what I intend to do. Apparently it is not possible to use a y-pipe with 2466's in a 3rd gen. That is of no concern to me.

To quote the seller of the 2466's:

"They will fit a 3rd gen, They were on my 1991 Z. There were no modifications that I had to made to the car or the headers to get them to fit. They go on and off the car in less than 20 minutes."

Thanks, everybody!
