Shopping list for Hooker 2055 install
1984 Trans Am L69.
Hooker headers (with air tubes) are ceramic coated with the "Y" pipe going into a MagnaFlow Cat/Cat back exhaust.
I will be keeping the A.I.R. System for the time being.
Here what I came up with-is this a solid list?
1-Spark plug wires- 90 degree boots, should I consider 8.5mm or step up to 10mm?
http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...model/corvette
OR
http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...model/firebird
In either case...are boot protectors advisable ?
2-Shorty spark plugs

3- Locking Header Bolts

Is 1" a good choice? Or
4- New O2 sensor, might as well.
5- Header Gaskets - standard O'Reillys
Looking to go cheap now but get Aluminum gaskets later when the 350 goes in.
I will install a rebuilt L98 within 12 months that will be somewhere between (ballpark) 250-350 hp, 95% street use 5% autocross.
I am willing to spend more $$$ just to make sure it's done right the first time but I don't want to waste money on "overkill" either.
