Modified Headers to fit 3rd gen camaro

I have been given a set of block hugger headers. I realize there are interference issues running these on these cars. Does anyone know exactly why they won't clear? Have done countless searches and i can't seem to find an answer as to what they hit. If its just the collector, could i not cut them off at an angle, spin them 180°, and weld them back on (to angle them to the rear of the car some)? Doing my own y pipe anyway, so i don't care that that won't fit. I know most folks are going to say go buy some headers, but these are free and i would love to be able to modify them to work. Looking for any ideas on this before i pull the manifolds and break out the welder.

most block huggers point straight down from the center of the engine.thats where the crossmember is.

Does anyone know how bad the interference is? Do they even come close to clearing it? Maybe cut the collector right where the 4 primary tubes come into it and welding a 45° elbow on it and the rest of the collector on the end of that? I have not pulled the manifolds yet, the car has been lowered and its a PITA to get under. Guess im going to try it over this long weekend and see what i can come up with. It would be great if i could make them work.

Sell them and get a set of headers for the car. They wont work. The collector goes right into the k member and there is not enough room to re route the tubes.
