Headers info
Hi
I'm going to be installing a set of shortys headers and y pipe on my 85 TA on the weekend. It has a 91 350 TPI. My old mans a mechanic and I'm some what mechanically inclined when I have to be. Just wondering if there's any obtsacles during the re and re that would help the process? Or any tips or pointers. After all the headaches I go through on this car I want this install to go smoothly. Any tips if you guys have any would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: Headers info
Last time I done it "10yr ago or so" I remember getting a smaller starter I think off an Lt1 engine to keep from having to dent up my Y-pipe. Its not an easy job especially getting the exhaust manifold bolts out but well worth it for the performance. I haven't put headers on my current car because I keep kicking around the idea of just going 350 but im starting to enjoy this 22-25 mpg 305 so I may go ahead and get the headers soon.

Get a mini starter, it'll help lots with heat issues. My headers killed several starters till I switched to a Hitachi mini. The solenoid can be rotated away from the heat source.
That, and you'll have to undo the motor mounts and lift the motor a little, other than that it's just a tight fit.
