Engine swap
Ok guys, I'm getting real close to swapping in a new 383 small block to replace the stock 305. My question is will the after market aluminum heads on the new engine throw the long tube header collectors off enough that they won't bolt to my dual exhaust pipes? I know the new heads are too tall to run the A/C compressor, just not sure about how much they will move the collectors.

Re: Engine swap
Probably not. Most heads, all that stuff is in the same place.
Probably won't alter anything about the AC either.
Knowing what heads it is would make it possible to be sure.

Re: Engine swap
The heads are BluePrint H8002K 195cc SB Chevy Head, I spoke with one of my buddies that is a builder and he verified that they will interfere with the A/C compressor, because of the taller valve cover, but said as long as I use the same headers I'm using now, I shouldn't have any issues with the collectors lining up.

Re: Engine swap
because of the taller valve cover
Use valve covers that fit rather than blaming it on the heads.
