When the flowmaster was first started I liked it better, but at idle and especially when revving, there is no comparison, the Hooker sounds better.

I couldn't get Jono's to work, it played for like a second and then stopped. Guess, I'll try again.

I love my hooker exhaust, but I think we are a little out numbered by the flowmaster owners.

I didn't think they sounded all that different, maybe a little at idle.

Looks like there are going to be a lot more Hooker systems in the future. Crap. Oh well, I'll enjoy the uniqueness for a little while.

That sounds a lot better, does that IROC have headers, because the first one doesn't which is holding it back. But I still say the hooker sounds better and has a higher cfm rating, so I wouldn't go any way but Hooker, but that's just my opinion. What kind of cat is on the last flowmaster sound clip. I'm wondering how my cat is affecting my sound, got it from NAPA, which I'm sure it's not a hi-flo one.

Sounds good huh. No headers. Imagine that thing with headers?!?! Not sure about the converter, I think there is 1 though, maybe the dude who owns it will post something. I do know it has these things but maybe more than this now:

150 H.P. NOS, Progressive Controller,Comp Cams 1.6RR & Valve Springs, AFPR, Ram Air, K&N's, Airfoil, Ported Plenum, Accel 300+ Wires & Supercoil, !Cat, Flowmaster, Trans-Go Shift Kit, SFC's, STB, Goodyear F1's, Zainofied, T-Tops, Etc...

I've got Flowmaster on my car, and I love it. Once I get my headers, I'll really love it...

I have no idea.

Maybe. I don't know how it was done but the sound on his videos are really good too. Compare it against yours, click the link.

"Whoa.... that sounds pretty damn mean!

Yes it does!! There are more sounds of this car on the Sounds page of this site with different setups. Once headers are on there with that exhaust I'd like to hear it. IMO still, there is no sound like Flowmaster, especially with headers. If I could only let every1 else hear the 1's I've heard on others Third Gens and at different places it would be cool but I can't obviously. I want to have 1 of those incredible sounding cars sometime.

Listen to the same 89 IROC-Z 350 at the track with a c/out open. I'm sure any1 that hasn't heard this will like it. https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/m...itrous_Run.ram There is more of these for this car on the Movies page of this site, they also sound really good.

hooker is better, duh.

flow's are overrated IMO.... and a funny story about flows... today i was snowboarding and putting my **** on in the parking lot when a Dodge Ram 1500 pulled up with aftermarket exhaust (turned out to be Borla...very good too)... when the guy jumps out of his truck some guy in the parking spot next to him who was putting his boots on strikes up a conversation with.. "Hey, thats a great exhaust ya got there... those flowmasters??"
the guy who owned the truck replied as he laughed "flowmaster?!? why the hell would I want that ****??" and just walked away - was the funniest thing ever

...ok, now all you flowmaster lovers have permission to flame me if you must, lol

they both sound OK IMO, but the best by far and not yet mentioned was the dynomax mufflers, listen to this http://www.dynomax.com/audio/track01.wav

Those mufflers really do sound good taking off, but when the driver let up, it sounded like crap almost like a rice burner. I'll have to take some sound clips like that, and see how it turns out.

No way, it was OK, but I didn't like that much either. Doesn't really compare to the stuff I've heard before. Those mufflers are good for flow though and are good for those looking for an exhaust thats not as loud as a Flowmaster or Aerochamber.

rofl..that borla thing is pretty funny. Most people that don't know much about cars still know flowmaster, and k@n, and some others. I've been asked if my car has flowmasters and I've pretty much responded the same way.

On an unrelated note.. I was driving to Kragen today(and to get a haircut also, at the place next door) and a shelby 427 cobra zoomed past me.. that side exhaust sounds really good. I could really hear that thing coming. There are two of those cars in my town, a red one and a black one..I used to see them at the tuesday night fudruckers car show when I lived down here. They are both immaculate.

No, I didn't mean the flow sounded rice, I meant the dynomax muffler, only when he let up.

Just my opinion, I heard a SLP loud mouth. Sounds like a boat at idle. At WOT its SO loud it has no growel/Pur behind it. Defenetly not for me.

Hookers are great, and probably a better product, but I prefer the tone of the Flowmaster. I remember one day at the WCG2000 when a certain Camaro drove up to us in the parking garage.... pure music to my ears

I can't remember for sure if it was Tim Burgess or a black Camaro that was in attendance, but that sound sure left and impression on me.

I bought the Flowmaster 3" with the 3-chamber muffler. Hated the sound. Put in a 2-chamber muffler......sounds awesome!

Thats probably the best example of what Hooker Aero-Chambers sound like. Sound almost identical to mine. Not very loud (but loud enough) at cruising/idle and when you get on it the thing screams.
