What is this pipe next to/in my exhaust on my stock 89' Camaro exhaust?
There is this tube that is firmly attached to my Cat. converter that runs up t behind my engine and I can't see where the other end goes behind my engine. It is preventing me from separating my exhaust which is in horrible disrepair and im replacing.
What is it and how is it removed? Thanks in advance for helping.

Yeah with further looking into this now that I know what is was I found this out. Do you happen to know if simply removing these will cause any other issues or I can disconnect and remove the system and add a delete pulley or new belt and have no negative side effects?

In New Hampshire he shouldn't have to worry about any more than a basic safety inspection, anything pre-obd2 is not really bothered with emissions wise.

No on belt driven pump GM ODB 1. The A.I.R system by design only injects air to the exhaust manifolds when the system is open loop. There is no ECM monitoring, i.e. current monitoring of the switching/diverter valves, downstream O2, that allows the system to detect a fault or tampering.
Had to prove this on my LG4 when it was new (along with EGR delete, not monitored until '86) when it was said it couldn't be done.
