Re: Accel headers
you can actually see this expanded area im talking about in bigblocks post where he has them hanging up ceramic coated
the rest of the tubes are exactly the same i own both sets and just checked, some primarys check out at 1-5/8 and some at 1-1/2 on both sets the y pipe tubing is also exactly the same when comparing the same area
the slps are still superior b/c of the stainless steel

Re: Accel headers
I'm wondering if Accel also had 2 sized headers like SLP?
I do have pictures of a accel(?) tri-y dual cat Y pipe with 2.5" tubes. Maybe 2 sizes there too?

Re: Accel headers
I saw a set on craigs list. They had the air tubes removed and were very rusty.
I contacted him and he said he just sold them.
Two guys got into a bidding war and he got $800 for them.
I should have have saved a picture

Re: Accel headers
You guys in Texas are lucky to not have the rust issues us Northerners do.

Re: Accel headers
Had some one contact me last month and his accel headers are 1.75.. Also am looking at a set that are 1.75 header and 2.5" Ypipe
I wish I could find a old accel catalog, it would go nice with my new cabinet !!!

Re: Accel headers
I will take a better measurement with my dial caliper today, but I did take a quick measurement with a tape measurement and got 1-3/4". Let me make sure.

Re: Accel headers
Damn, I'm jealous on that Accel cabinet, there was/is a Accel book rack in eBay, might make a nice pair! Has anybody ever scaned any of the Lingenfelter catalogs?

Re: Accel headers
Down to 1 set of known 1.75 inch tubes. He sent a few pictures of the tubes with calipers on them showing the numbers.

Re: Accel headers
Bring this up from the dead looking for collector gaskets for these? IIRC thought some import used same gasket.
I picked up a set of these but for a G-body - I never know SLP made G-body headers
if anyone has a G-body with SBC they are available PM me thay are in great condition

Re: Accel headers
Those are great headers for the G-body. I haven't had any issues with L98 angle plug or normal plug locations with my f-body SLP tri-ys.
