86 Camaro 406 small block

Alright so, for anyone who has/had the same setup or knows whats best or exact to use, i have a 406 small block in my 86 camaro. Right now it had the factory 305 manifolds on it. Don’t ask me why thats hows I bought it lmao. But i want to buy headers for it but and having trouble know what size to get and which style will fit that motor and frame. Also if possible, im wanting to run straight dual exhaust from the headers to as far back as i can. Anyone have any answers on which headers to get? And also if and what i need to do the exhaust. Would rather not do another y pipe . Thanks in advance!

I run a 406 in my 82 Z-28 and I use the Hedman shorty style headers with the larger style tubes along with their matching Y-pipe hooked to a Flowmaster 3" system and I am constantly asked what I am running since the sound is burly sounding. I cut off the straight polished tail pipes that came with the system and put on some polished turn down tips since that is what I like and it looks more stock with turn downs. I have the headers wrapped since there is just so little air that can escape under hood. I am getting ready to install some heat extractor type vents to help with that since my car is not driven in weather unless caught out in it at a show.

Yeah i was doing some looking last night after i made the post and found the same brand headers. Just hard as hell to find cus that setup isn’t common on third gens. Im gonna try and see if i have enough clearance to run straight pipes instead of another y pipe setup. My Camaro sits a little higher especially with the front cus i think it has big block springs in it. And it’s a berlinetta. But thanks again for the reply!
