Exhaust sound "tuning" input?
Alright, so I've been driving around with my current set up for a couple weeks. LS1, full 2.5" dual h pipe over the axle, currently running through a pair of knock off flowmaster super 10s. It sounds decent but there is no character and it lacks volume... I basically want refined "nasty". I'm talking make people jump, **** off soccer moms driving in the lane next to me... Immature, sure, but the car doesn't get driven much, never late at night (won't get the neighbours angry) etc.
The gf says it no longer has the feeling it had before, and my car buddies agree there is no attitude with it. I'm assuming the duals with the h-pipe have calmed it down a bit.
I took off my after the axle section to see what straight pipes could sound like, and the attitude and volume is there, but it obviously sounds not so awesome quality wise.
Previously I had the dynomax version of the LM1 and I absolutely loved it aside from a horrible "chugging" noise at 2500rpm if I was decelerating in gear with no brakes applied.
Currently considering the 24250 dynomax MINI race bullets in place of my current mufflers, just unsure if they will clean up the sound at all, especially being so close to the end of the system, or if I go for the larger 12" long dynomax race bullets which are about 3x the cost and may bring the volume down too much... That said, if it's quality over quantity of sound, I'll take the quality. I currently sound like just another "nice" sounding car.
I don't have any video recorded of how it sounds now, but I plan on getting some.
