List of equipment to start tuning......need input!!

Alright, I will be using the 730 ecm. Setup is in my sig. and will be using Tuner Pro RT for tuning

I am getting ready to buy some equipment to tune and datalog with and i wanted to get some input on if this will work for what i want to do or if I need to buy something different.

-Wideband o2 (tuner/buddy already has this and is letting me use it)
-Ostich 1.0 (tuner/buddy already has this and is letting me use it)
-Vacuum Gauge
-ALDU1 and CABL1 XtremeALDL
-G1 Memory Adapter
-SST 27SF512
-Chip burner.

Now, my question is:

-i plan to use the ostric for real time emulation, but will the XtremeALDL work to datalog with? I mean, is that the only thing i will need to have to datalog with? I know i will need to download WinALDL to datalog with, but is the ALDL and CABL1 with the use of winALDL all i need to datalog using tunerpro rt?

-Lastly, is there anything else that i am missing to tune with. The only expense i will have is the G1 memory adapter and the ALDL, everything else is being lended to me for free. WIll everything i have get me started with tuning, chipping and datalogging?

thanks

To data log you need TunerProRT (shareware?) or a commercial product such as Data Master. WinALDL won't work on 8192 baud ECMs such as the '7730.

The Ostrich uses USB for an interface to the PC/laptop.

Same with the ALDL cable you chose.

The Ostrich is an emulator, nothing to do with data logging.

Your first post list is all you need. The ADU1/Xtreme cable for the ALDL to laptop and Tuner Pro RT will allow you to data log. Ah, always something, will need a proper .ads file for Tuner Pro RT to decipher the data stream. A search here or on moates.net will turn one up.

Then Tuner Pro RT and an .xdf file to modify the calibration.

Then the Ostrich or the Prom burner to put the new calibration into the ECM.

Once your friend stops over with the goodies you will catch on quickly. Easiest way to learn what is required and how it all fits together.

Oh ok, so the xtremeALDL WILL work with the 730 ECM, but winaldl will not, so I need to get a different program to decipher the datastream? Yeah, I knew the ostrich was just the emulator.......I was just confused by your first response, but I think I'm getting it.

I thought you were telling me that the aldl wouldn't work with the 730 ECM, but you were just saying the winALDL program won't work...
