Gen 4 Vortec Exhaust Manifold on 3rd Gen TBi
Has anyone ever tried to swap out the third gen manifolds for vortec manifolds? Im thinking along the lines of getting rid of the EGR and adding maybe a little flow?

I don't believe VORTEC truck manifolds will fit in our cars. I think the driver side manifold outlet is in the wrong place IIRC.
Can someone confirm?

The suspense is killing me. Next day off i'm going to take them off my Tahoe and see. They look very close. Maybe with minor machining mods? Welds? Etc?

no,use the tpi manifolds or buy good dyno don or hedman/hooker shortie or mid length headers designed specifically for the "1982-1992 f-body application.you do not want to deal with truck manifolds on a third gen unless you want to bash in your drivers side firewall with a sledgehammer and custom design a y-pipe that will not work well and rub everywhere and be more restrictive negating all the work and making it redundant.

look at third generation headers on summit and compare the design with a vortec truck header/manifold,
they are completely different and designed for a completely different chassis/motor mount, firewall, brake
booster situation.you would be creating a massive headache for yourself with no real advantage
