Cleaning light rust spots on dyno don ceramic headers

I Have a little bit of light rust spots on my Dyno don ceramic coated headers. I have cleaned it off before years ago with a green scotch brite pad but was wondering if it may possibly be too abrasive and cleaning them this way may wear off the ceramic coating eventually. What do you use to clean light rust spots off your ceramic coated headers?

I was told by the place that coated mine to use steel wool, start with 0000 in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it doesn't scratch them first.
