Trying to source a 3" intermediate pipe for my 91' bird but not having any luck throught the usual suppliers. I came across the AP Exhaust X5500 3" mandrel bent intermediate pipe, has anyone had any experience with making these work under our Thirdgens?

*EDIT
I can see that the connection to the cat is different, I believe it's more for a 4th gen.

Looks like the correct connection for 91.5 -92 N10 cats

The catch with most of the replacement intermediate pipes is they neck down to 2.5" where they enter the muffler. The OD of the stock I-pipe is 2.75 or 3", but the muffler inlet is 2.5. To get a true 3" you have to go performance aftermarket. Or weld up a bunch of adapters.

It will work with a little fabbing at the cat end.

It seems the only option other than aftermarket or 2.5 intermediate pipes is the Walker 46669.

Re: AP Exhaust X5500 3" intermediate pipe
My exhaust shop ordered a 3" mandrel bent for 4th gen, fairy certain it was from AP. He just cut cat flange off. Used a 3" inlet magnaflow, mid pipe was 3" all the way back, but again not sure on exact part number. I will be over there in the morning getting my truck looked at, will try and remember to ask for the part number.
