4th Gen Exhaust into a 3rd Gen

I have a line on a Borla exhaust with long tubes from a 94 LT1 4th Gen. I have an 89 with a Gen I 350, does anyone know how compatible a 4th gen exhaust is with a 3rd gen? I'm assuming that I'll have to modify some of it but not sure to what extent. Also I am wondering if anyone has used LT1 headers on a Gen I SBC and what kind of issues I would have there. Thanks in advance.

I believe the cat back portion will work with minor differences between the two generations but the headers I don’t believe will fit in these cars. The back half (suspension) of the 4th gens were similar to the 3rds, however the front half (suspension) was drastically different. I suppose if a guy had a tubular K member maybe that would open up room for their fitment but no guarantee with that either. I’d say if the Borla is in good shape and a good price get it and some eBay long tubes and call it a day.

I believe you have to modify the cat end and the bend going to the cat.
