headers and emissions

I live in the chicago burbs and am subject to emissinos testing. I was wondering that is i get a set of headers without the AIR tubes on them could i still pass the emissions test. I dont recall if they do a visual in the state or not. Any help would be greatley apprecieated.

You definitely wont pass a visual without AIR tubes on your headers.

Find out if your emissions test requires a visual inspection.

REALLY I WOULD HAVE NEVER GUESSED THAT! I am aksing about hydrocarbons ppm. if the lack of air tubes on my headers will cause my car to fail the sniffer test.

there is a lot of varibles......what kind of engine do you have? Do you have mods? If you have a 383 Miniram with a big cam you won't pass, if you have a stock 305 then you probably will.
