Muffler options and exhaust ideas
Muffler options and exhaust ideas
Just about finished putting together my 92 RS and it’s time to get an exhaust hung. I have in the car a 70s block 4 bolt 350, .515” camshaft with a set of 882 cylinder heads. 700r4. I want to keep a low note to the exhaust with little resonation and rasp without making the car too quiet. I have been looking into magnaflow but just wanted some opinions/pictures of some other exhaust setups before I buy anything because it doesn’t look like there’s a lot of room underneath the car. Thanks

Magnaflow is quiet at idle, but will have a roar with your setup. But it should sound smooth and be what your looking for.

I know they say Magnaflow makes 3 more hp... But dang flowmasters sound great on these cars. Look em both up on youtube, choose for yourself.

I do love the sound of a flowmaster, thats what we have on our second gen. I just don’t like the drone that car has while cruising and I plan on daily driving my 92. Is there room to fit mufflers before the rear end? I am thinking these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-10426
should I get one or two?

I have true duals with mufflers before the rear end. Thrush welded turbo mufflers, good low throaty idle and they really open up when you get on it. Sound good cruising too, no drone.
