Muffler replacement - need help
Howdy all, today I am looking for advice regarding a new muffler. Mine is completely blown out currently, and I want something a little louder than stock sounding. I hear Dynomax’s Super Turbo muffler does the trick, but the P.O. installed a 3 inch intermediate pipe (might be 2.75 inches internal), where the Super Turbo has a 2.5 inch inlet. I haven’t found much in the realm of 3 or 2.75 inch input mufflers that are close to stock noise level, other than the Ultra Flo. That’s a 3 inch in and 3 inch out, however. Would it be more economical to have my intermediate neck down to 2.5 inches to fit a Super Turbo or go with the Ultra Flo? I’m also open to any other muffler tips or suggestions.

Sounds like he done you a great justice going ahead and running a real 3in exhaust so I would definitely not neck it down and restrain it. Let her breathe.. go with a 3in inlet-outlet muffler. Magnaflow is a quiet muffler and so is the Ultraflow IMO.

I ultimately went with the Dynomax UltraFlow 17227. It's a 3-inch in, dual 2-1/2-inch out. Louder than stock but not as loud as the Magnaflow I had prior.
