1984 Trans AM - True Duel exhaust

Was there a true dual exhaust from the factory for these cars - dual cats, dual pipes? Or was it just dual pipes back off a dual exit cat?
The driver manifold exhaust pipe from driver side to the passenger manifold exhaust is a real power grabber.

No true dual exhaust. Had a N10 dual cat setup the necked down to one intermediate pipe then to a muffler that split into two tailpipes giving the appearance of dual exhaust but no, never true dual exhaust.

From '82-'83 LU5 CFI and '82-early '84 LG4 engine equipped Z28s and Trans Ams had what GM advertised as a dual exhaust system that
split before the axle and with two resonators. Again, it's still not true dual exhaust though.

Had that setup on my 82 Z28 Pace Car and boy did it sound good.
