Dual Exhaust?

I was doing some shopping and i noticed that there's no dual exhaust systems for my 87 Trans Am GTA. Does anybody make it?

Re: Dual Exhaust?

dynamax makes a dual exhaust setup, but its only 2.25 tubing that crush bent, so its pretty much worthless.

Other than that you have to do it yourself, there is not a lot of room under the car and dual exhaust can be a lit tricky.

A good 3" single and a good set of headers and y-pipe will support a lot of power. The duals have little benefit at your power level, except for sound.

Re: Dual Exhaust?

Apparently you made NO attempt to do a on here. There is more than 1 thread already discussing duals RIGHT NOW. Your post would make at least 3 current threads.

you will find that most people are pretty friendly and Stephen was pretty easy on you. i know you say you are only 16 but everyone with no postings like you will get that same line and usually a lot harder and nastier.
i frequently tell people how to spell google and they i point to that red line at the top of the page and spell out search.
so suck it up - lots of people have different opinions about cars and we debate about it all the time. maf v map, true duals v y pipe, hot cam or zz4, 601 heads or 081 - ZZ4 heads on a 305, head bypass or pass through. it goes on and on and no one takes it too hard.
you have to get used to that because no one gets upset.
and now go and play with the search key and learn how to use it - you cant hurt it. i had to learn the same thing - just like everyone here.
welcome to 3rd gen and dont take it personally
but if you want to really get an answer SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH

Re: Dual Exhaust?

It's all good man... i dont get butt hurt easily. I just didnt feel like starting an argument.... so the closest i got was borla. They make an exhaust system that starts out single then gos dual immediately after the muffler.

Re: Dual Exhaust?

There are quite a few companies who make a 3" catback with a single in, dual out muffler, like the one you mention. There is an excellent sticky on this topic. TRUE duals will have to be custom made, won't make a power difference compared to a 3" catback, and tend to not be good for ground clearance. They sound sweet though.

Re: Dual Exhaust?

I said I wouldn't help, but with people's lack of ability to (this result came back on my FIRST try for 'dual' and was only the EIGHT one down titled "Dual exhaust problems solved for aftermarket headers!!!" ), the misinformation given here and was only started on 4-24-2009, so it isn't even an old post! Not exactly hard to find. And you wondered why I was so "mean". TGO has been here over 11 years now. Short of LSx stuff or brand new releases, there is very little NEW things that haven't been answered already, many many times over.

Bolt on & go, no custom work needed, for a true dual cat back.....

Bolt-on....except for the fact you need headers, the pipe is 2 1/4" die bent garbage and you also need to buy your own mufflers.

Even if you just used it as a 'cat-back', it still isn't 'bolt-on'.

description from Summit:
"They allow the installer to custom-tailor these exhausts to fit vehicles with non-OEM aftermarket headers......Mufflers are not included. "

Re: Dual Exhaust?

Well i dont really wanna put headers on just because most of them aren't smoggable.
