Dual exhaust problems solved for aftermarket headers!!!
If you want a bolt on dual exhaust kit to match up to shorty headers without breaking the bank then you need to go to summit racing...they now have a direct fit dynomax kit that wont scrape the ground and if you add thrush glasspacks the sound is excellent!!! part number is wlk-89009 dynomax dual kit 82-89 camaro for $167.95 includes all hangers and hardware to install plus gaskets FINALLY for all those people in car shops that told me dual exhaust couldnt be done on a third gen buy this kit and let em hear the dual thrush tubes lmao

To save people time having to search Summit......

Looks like a lot more piping than would be needed. It turns out is it duals, but both pipes run down the passenger side, then uses 2 sideways mounted mufflers, where the stock crossflow muffler sits & exits out the back, 2 tips on the drivers side. Not side exits before the rear tires.

This kit looks to be modifiable to be both legal and side exit. A couple of dynomax inline 4 inch cats and a couple of glass packs should do it.

That kit has been around for quite awhile. It only fits Dynomax headers directly, if you have anything else, you'll have to modify the collector connection.
It uses all of the pipes if installed as suggested. As it clearly states, the mufflers and clamps are not included (another $100 if you use the recommended mufflers).
2-1/4" and crush bends are not particularly impressive. But, at least you'll be able to claim that you have "true duals".

I would say that a custom job is better depending on what you do. There's too many turns, and it's only 2.5". That diameter would be good if you didn't plan on making big power modifications.
