Dyno Don Headers Installation
Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those who have experience installing Dyno Don's headers. I acquired a car that had Hooker headers installed by the previous owner, and I'm currently in the process of removing those. The passenger side header has proven to be quite a challenge. I've been scouring the forums for tips and tricks, but much of the information seems to be fragmented. It would be great to hear about your personal experiences, especially regarding the steps you took to make the installation smoother and less stressful.
The headers that I purchased form Dyno Don do not have the air tubes as that was removed from the previous owner. The vehicle is pretty much stock other than the headers.
I’ve come across several discussions focusing on the importance of motor and transmission mounts during the installation process. I’m curious to know if anyone here has found that adjusting or replacing these mounts truly made a difference in easing the installation of the headers. Any insights on tools, techniques, or any specific pitfalls to avoid would be incredibly helpful. I appreciate any feedback you can provide, and I look forward to learning from your experiences!

Try lifting the engine just a slight bit. Use a piece of wood between your jack and the oil pan.

I've had my old edelbrock in and out a couple of times and it was tight. I replaced them w dons 5 years ago and have had them on and off a couple of times and had no issues at all. They hade more room than the old edelbrocks. I'm not gonna say it's an easy fit but no cursing was involved. I have poly engine mounts. I don't know if that makes much of a difference.
