I haven't posted here in a long while, but I thought since I got the product thru 3GO here that I'd post about it.
After 27 years, the Flowmaster Force II cat-back exhaust system that was on my '88 GTA gave up the fight. While
replacing the fuel pump, we found several rusted thru holes in the exhaust pipes by the muffler and a few other places that looked
a little suspect. What to do, and on the spur-of-the-moment too?
Well, lucky for myself ever since 1999 I have had a Banks cat-back exhaust system stored in plastic totes. I purchased it from an old 3GO member
here who had bought it for an '87 IROC that he had... but the car was totaled before the exhaust kit could be installed. I was able
to pick it up for the decent price (I thought) of $150. How many times had I told my wife that one day we'd be glad we had that kit? More than I have
fingers and toes, I guarantee you that! She didn't believe me... until she did.
For those of you with experience who know about the kit, you know how it works: the sound is a bit tighter than the OE exhaust and a bit more
throaty than the Flowmaster II setup that was on the car previously. The wonderful rumble our cars all have remains with this kit, I'm glad to say.
From the drivers seat it sounds a little more "punchy"... maybe because the twin pipes both exit that side of the car? It exhibits a good, muscular
sound at highway speed, but does not seem to exhibit the 'amplified droning" that I feared it might at highway speed.
Anyway, just wanted to share about it and show some photos...
Really like the twin exit setup.

Re: Banks F-Body Exhaust
Back in the day Brian Tooley had a white Z with a built 406 SBC and this Banks exhaust system on it. It's sounded great. I'd be over a friend's house on North Street and Brian would come by and see us out in the yard and hammer down on it.
I'll be in the minority, but I'm kinda sad the Force II is gone. I just put a Force II on mine a little over a year ago, and absolutely love it.
That being said, I find the Banks exhaust pretty cool as well. I have old magazines from the 80's using it.

Force II was the single exit system, wasn't it?
This one is from '98 and it's on it's third car now.
Do you have a video of the car with the force 2 on it?
Me? I've got just a quick walk around video of when I got it running for the first time in 25 years. It was just a cold start idle. Not sure how to post a video here.
