Replacing exhaust manifold studs.

I'm replacing some exhaust manifold studs (at the manifold collector). Should I put anything on the threads that go into the manifold? It seems like the stud would be just as likely to come out of the manifold as the nut would be to come off of the stud.

You could use the high strength Loctite(red).I am not too sure if the heat from the exhaust will affect it's holding properties or not, never ran into this problem(always have headers). But I would give it a shot.

Loc-tite (red or blue) comes apart at about 300degF. I'm pretty sure that the manifold get hotter than that. Thanks anyway.
