Shorty Headers
I have a LG4 engine ,and would like to put headersa on it. I have heard you can gain as much as 15hp. My question is what is the best type of shorty headers I can buy for the best hp ,and best price? Can my stock Y-pipe be bolted to shorty headers or must I replace exaust?

#1 question - do you have to go through emissions testing or inspection? If so, the answer will vary somewhat.
#2 question - do you plan on upgrades to the engine anytime in the near future? If so, the answer might vary somewhat.
To get the most out of the headers, you'll also need to upgrade the teeny cat the factory put on LG4s. And, the teeny cat-back they put on. So, figure on a complete exhaust replacement to do the job right.
Whatever you do, do NOT get headers intended for an LG4. Big mistake, one even the magazines have been known to make. The reason is such headers have a y-pipe that bolts up to the cat mentioned in the paragraph above.
Get a system designed for a TPI single-cat, which will have a 3" cat inlet. Then get the rest of the system accordingly, and you'll have a nice setup that will handle future engine upgrades as well.
Personally, I think the Hooker 2055's are a good choice for the money. You can spend less by getting Hedmans with their y-pipe (sold seperately, unlike most other headers). You'll want to retain your O2 sensor mount, so make sure it is included in the style you do end up getting. TES are the least expensive, emissions-legal header kit out there, but probably aren't the best (but probably good enough for an LG4 if no other mods are made). SLP is the consensus for best out there, but you pay for what you get.
As far as I know, nobody makes headers to fit the stock y-pipe. For good reason, to be sure (see 3rd paragraph, above).
