Flowmaster 80

First - dont tell me to just get a cat-back, its not an option right now...
OK, now, correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the pipe on a L03 (91 TBI 305) 2.25"??? If so, how can the 80 series be stock replacement, as it comes with either 3", or 2.5" (not 2.25") inlet(s)??
Thanks fer any help!

I don't know why they call it stock replacement, because your right, the are different sizes.
I bought an 80 flowmaster (2.5 inches) And midas put it in, they just had to resize the inlet on the muffler since i also bought new 2.5 inch tailpipes

its a stock replacement because it necks down from 3" to 2.5" and then they give you an extra piece to neck it down to 2.25". If you ever want to go for a 3" pipe you just have to cut the front of the neck off and you get a 3" inlet.
