should i go with high flow cat??

i need a new cat and i was wondering if a high flow is worth the money in terms of performance and sound. my muffler shop wants an extra 40 bucks for the highflow. my car has been losing power since the past week or so, and someone told me a while back that my cat was bad, so i figured i'd go with a high flow if its worth it. thanx

what are the emissions laws in MD? i replaced my cat with a pipe and would recommend it if you are allowed.

It's different county by county in MD. Here in Allegany county where I go to college there is no emissions.. At home in Calvert County, they do a visual check with a mirror, but I went 3 times and they never said anything about it. Of course having no cat will hurt your readings. I bought a cat from NAPA, I'm not sure if it was hi flo or not, I was in a bind to get one for emissions. Are you sure the problem is your cat, before you go wasting money. Usually, if it is glowing that's a good sign. Just cause you have lost power doesn't mean it's definately the cat, it could be other things. You have any other symptoms.
How much do they want for the hi flo one. You could always call Summit and get a price on the Catco ones. They're reasonably priced.
