I will have some mod money in a few weeks, I want to improve my current setup. Would it be worth it too swap out my Tes for some Slp 1 3/4 headers? Seems to me I would pickup some power just not sure how much and if it would worth the trouble.
Anyone have any real world dyno or track times to backup an improvment from TES to SLP 1 3/4 headers.
Thanks!

Youll gain aobut 5 hp, and about $600 worth of debt. The SLP's are great quality and will last longer, but not THAT big of an upgrade than what you currently have.
You can spen $600 elsewhere, and get much more out of it than upgrading to SLP's.
Your choice man!

Is this really on a "SuperRamed 406"?
Attached to "Trick Flow 23 degree heads"?
If so, I would think the gains would be substantial.

Yes they would be going on a 406, with Trickflow heads, SuperRam, accel base, 58mmtb, Lpe/accel SuperRam cam 213, Comp 1.6 rockers, 11.1 compression. With only 20* of timing the car made 306.5 rwh and 419.8 ftlbs of torque. Theres still alot left in it i think.
IM thinking that maybe the TES is part the reason i can only run 20* of timing. The restriction is heating the chambers up, I dunno.
I have no complants about the TES they have given me no problems. I began to question if they were holding my motor back when i compared the exhaust port of the heads to the size of the tes port. It looked like the tes would be such a restriction, right at the head port.
I can get a set of the Slps for 399.00 thru Slp. 1 3/4 with no air.
I dont mind spending the money if i would pickup 10/20 at the wheels over my TES.

If your engine was a 305 or a mild 350, I would agree with all the comments about little gain. But, you've got a small block that's bigger than my big block. I would think the jump from 1-5/8" to 1-3/4" primaries would more than make it worth you while, given as little as you say it would have to be to be worth it to you.

I'd say its most definitely worth it on your setup, especially if you have the older Edelcrock 1 1/2" headers!

Mike H, I have a set of the SLP 1 3/4 dual cat headers, y-pipe, and install kit. I can't get them to fit so i'd like to sell them. If you are interested, let me know by e-mail. Oh yeah, they don't have air tubes either.

Thanks for the replys guys....IM begining to realize that the factory Exhaust design sucks for high power in these cars. I think the Hooker 1 3/4 SC/LTs, and a 3" to 4" Mufflex y-pipe with a 4" catback, and spin tech muffler would be the best system for power. The install sounds like a major pain in the ***, IM still considering this system as an option though. I dont have to worry about emissions testing.
Does anyone know if the SLP 1 3/4 headers will clear the spark plugs with Trickflow heads?
