Performance gains for taking cats off?
I have a 1989 Trans Am GTA with a 383 strocker and dual stock cats. I'm thinking of taking my cats off, and I'm wondering if I would notice any gain in performance?

I heard that you hafta do yearly maintence on the 383stoker, with working on the pistons and rings.. is that true or your engine is to soon to know yet?

I felt a major gain with my 92 Z28 convt 305TPI when I gutted the stock cat. I can only imagine your 383 would really breathe with out the cat. Beware, your exhaust will become noticeably louder without the cats!
I'm running a single, high-flow cat on my ZZ4TPI combo, mostly to keep the exhaust note reasonable. I'm a little older and get tired of the "open exhaust" sound I loved so much when I was 17!
