hooker, or hedman??

ok since i dont have a visual emissions thing, i decided to not buy the "50 state legal" headers...i was thinkin of the Hooker Comp Headers,, or maybe hedmans if they are anybetter. I read that the hedman heades have stock floorpan clearence issues, and i ahvent heard such a thing for the Hookers. Also,, where can i find a Y pipe for the Hookers to go single cat, then 3'' back?? what does everyone think or suggest??
thanks!

PS...tomorrow im going to the swap meet, hopefully ill find something there for cheap!!

I have hedman hedders on my '84 Camaro. I did not have a problem with the floorpan, but with the tranny bellhousing during installation. We ended up having to raise the engine about a foot or so to get them to clear. Once they were past the bellhousing and bolted to the block, there were no further problems.

how did you like them??? they would be cheaper than the hooker comps,, plus no need for a custom Y pipe.. i just wasnt sure about the floor pan clearance...im assuming you instaled the shortie style headers, and not the long,, i was gonna go long tubes,, but dont think its gonna be possible for the money. have any pics??
Thanks
Ryan

PS... wont the 1 5/8 kill my 350 power potential?? or will it just give me better torque??

I have the long tube heddmans and I like them. They have been on my car for at least 5 years. No floor pan problems at all. If I had it to do all over I would have gotten the 1 3/4" Hookers. The heddmans are alot cheaper though.
