SLP header install?

SLP header install?

hey guyz next month i'm getting the SLP 1 3/4 headers and Y-pipe.. hows the install on this? nice and easy? any clearance issues? and whats the installation kit that SLP sells? do i need to buy this also? i think its the gaskets and bolts but i don't know its like a hundred bucks more so i wanna know if i need it or not, or do u just need the headers and y-pipe? thanx for ur help in advance.. mike

I'd suggest you get it, especially if you are getting headers with AIR tubes.

The SLP installation kit comes with everything you need (bolts, gaskets, RTV, etc) in a box. This way you dont have to waste time running back and forth to a parts store.

They may try to sell you the Y-pipe to cat adapter. I would NOT recommend buying this since an exhaust shop can make and install one for less $$$

I thought the install was a little worse than normal, I had some clearance problems on the drivers side with the brake lines and steering shaft. I also had to take the valve cover off on the drivers side to get the header in. On the pass. side I just had to take out the motor mount bolt and jack up the engine a little.
