heat soak problems?

heat soak problems?

anybody getting some nasty heat soak problems with the cars running headers...i just started puttin my car together and the starter is REALLY close to the header, it almost touches it

"IT COST ME 20 DOLLARS TO PAINT MY CAR AND IT STILL DOESNT RUN RACING" ...anyway

My headers were like half an inch away from my starter and would overheat the starter so I got some of that heat wrap crap and it actually works ...the other choice would be a ministarter.

im gonna hit it with a hammer a little bit...then maybe some of that header wrap....no ministarter for my cheap ***..

for some reason people dont wanna join that club

NOOOOOO! Don't beat the **** out of it yet. Check in the tech articles for one about a hot start problem and push button starter. It talks about a remote solenoid. I found a solenoid at O'Reilly's for about $5 and then you need the wiring. It's really easy and solved my problem. I don't have headers yet, but still had a hot start problem...not anymore

With my SLP Headers, I had a heat soak problem and the cure was
to get a Mini - starter and no problems in over a year with starter.

eventually i'll go to a ministarter...right now im just trying to get on the road, im having race-withdraw...summit sells a remote solenoid mount, i might try that, or the header wrap, my **** is rusty anyway....i kinda just wanna hit somethin with a hammer
