U got Hedman shorties? Look inside------>

I just bought a used set with the y-pipe. I got a good deal on them but they have surface rust. Are these headers worth paying the $$ and having them stripped and coated? I just may paint them, but my question to you is this: If you had to do it again- would you use the Hedmans and go thru the trouble?

Thanks in advance....

i just bought some of these brand new, they will be instaled in a week. I have seen pics of headers where people just threw them on the car without getting them painted, or painting them thereself,,and they look like CRAP! im sorry but i like a nice clean engine compartment! well anyways, im kind of on a budget (thats y i bought these in the first place), so im gonna paint them myself. im currently in the process of taking the black shipping paint of now. all i did was turn on the air compresor and hook up the dremel type tool with a wire brush. then im gonna go spend 14 bucks oh high temp engine paint (1200-1800)...im jsut gonna do them black again cause that will hide most of the *** ups on them, plus they will get dirty anyways! so i say, paint them yourself!

I bought my headers at the Super Chevy Show in Indy for $30. I took them to work, and blasted them, then painted them with the high temp paint. I am going to do this again, but I want to try the Eastwood Co.'s exhaust coating. I have heard it works good when the instructions are followed.

I painted mine with the highest-temp paint i could find in town. It has lasted for the last 6 months so far. Heres a pic, look closely.

I didnt coat mine or anything because I really don't care if they rust out. Overall they are good headers. I think they're worth having coated if you have the money ...atleast hi-temp spray paint them or something.
