Tailpipe Expanders: All that can help please do!!!!!!
Hey guys, I am looking at tailpipe expander tools for my flowmaster 80 series muffler. I clamped the inlet on the muffler to the stock I-Pipe, and its really tight, and I wanna take it off so I can raise the tailpipes. I cannot raise them without this tool. Now my question is, will this ebay item:

fit my muffler and restore it, or is it rated too small? Please let me know before the bidding is over, PLEASE! I don't want my muffler melting to my I-pipe before its too late. Thanks

that tool is used to fit inside of the pipe, so if u can't get the muffler off, then you won't be able to fit it inside...
now this is what i did to get mine off. and it will take a while, it probably took me 20 min to get my old SLP muffler off. get a large rubber malet, a torch, and some penetrating lube. spray in the area between the two pipes a coulpe times and let it set for a few minutes. then start banging with the mallet, many many times to loosen up the pipes. if you don't get any where, use the torch and heat up the muffler in pipe, and try rotating\hitting to see if u can get it loose. you might not be able to rotate it until after you get the muffler off.
AND THEN thats when you want the pipe expander to take out the crimp in the pipes. jsut make sure its the same diam. as the pipe u have.
