A.i.r. Tubes

WHEN I REMOVE THE AIR PUMP COULD I JUST TAKE THE RUBBER HOSES OFF THE AIR TUBES (RIGHT BEFORE THE CHECKVALVES) OR DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE TUBES AND PLUG THE HOLES?

remove the tubes (#8 is really a PITA) and plug the holes with 1/4" NPT brass pipe plugs. Will also need to plug the SS hard line going to the converter. A short piece of the rubber hose you take off, trim to 2" long, and use a 3/8" NPT plug. Use a leftover stock clamp to secure.

you can either plug the air lines themselves (one for each side) or remove them a plug the manifolds, I recomend the latter, once you get this done you'll realize that you have twice as much room to remove spark plugs, etc.

Will you still be able to pass DEQ without the AIR Tubes and smog pump?? I would love to take that crap off.

My mechanic said that a smog pump makes no difference in emmisions. In fact, my car with no smog pump easily went through emmisions. The car went through better than my 2.8 and its got a 305. I live in CT, and we have some pretty strick standards around here.
