SLP Headers / starter clearance problems??

Hey all. I have a 85 Camaro sport coupe with a (1974 block) 406 in it. I installed my SLP 1 3/4" headers on it the other day and they will not fit with my starter on. Is this normal? I was just going to go out and buy a mini starter, but I thought I'd ask first.

Thanks

Dave

Buy the mini-starter and avoid the second problem of heat soak
to the regular size starter. Been there and done it.

just got throught that pain in the butt with my hooker super comps. i tried 2 mini starters that did not clear either. i saved myself some cash and got a s10 starter for a 4.3L. they are just a hair bigger than an lt1 starter. worked like a charm

I recently installed a set of the SLP 1 3/4 headers on my 406 and didnt have any starter clearance problems. IM using a stock full size starter too.
