I dont know for sure about the Trans Am but I think it will work on 87 IROC. I cant guarantee what it will fit because I just dont know for sure. Just let me know if you want it., The best I can do.

Here is a pic. It does not have the remote hatch release.

Re: Hatch pull down assembly, 89 RS

Ron,
Thank you for your time, but I found out from top-downsolutions.com that the latches are the same for 86 and 87 and then for 88 thru 91. Best of luck.

Thank You
Bryan

Re: Hatch pull down assembly, 89 RS

Hey Ron,

I have an 88 RS. Is the hatch unit still available? Also you said it doesn't have the remote release. What exactly do you mean? Is it just operated by the key release on the trunk? Thanks

Yes, I still have the latch. The car didnt have the remote release inside the car, just opens with the key. Works perfect when the car was wrecked in September.

I can guarantee it will fit. Is that good enough? You would need to swap the small black plug that is on the blue wire of the 89 for the larger white one on hte blue wire of the 86-87 vintage.
