Alright, ladies and gentlemen, I am now officially SOLD OUT. No more STS units.

Thanks, it was fun, we had a good run, hope y'all are enjoying all the sequential tail lights out there!

Re: Stephen's STS units

Hi Lou,

Will you ever be offering STS units again?

I have a base 92 Firebird, and I'm trying to convert them to an 82 tail light.

I read your instructions about converting the wiring, and I plan on doing that soon. I'm hoping eventually after that I can get an STS unit for it.

I take it when the splicing is done in the rear, the amber turn socket will be eliminated? At the same time, one of the tail lights will be eliminated? That would leave me with three tail/brake/turn lights and one reverse light.

My problem is, I'll have a tail socket that doesn't fit into the 82 tail light housing. Do you know where I can get the correct socket?

Howdy bdawg,

it is very unlikely that I will be making more units, as I've been indicating for some time now. Big life changes are coming up and the future is currently uncertain.

As for the the amber tail light section, you also have the option of recoloring it to make it red (Candy Apple Translucent Red from Testors, available at Sprawlmart for a few dollars).

Sockets can be found at most car parts stores, they are made for example by Dorman. Their price varies from $2.99 to $7.99, depends on where you go. You can even order them online.

Btw, I have one last STS unit that's waiting on a payment to go through. So it is spoken for but if the payment falls through, it's yours.

Regards
Lou

Re: Stephen's STS units

Thanks Lou!
Recoloring is a good option, but I already bought the 82 tail light housing. The ultimate goal is to make it look more like an 82.

I'll definitely look for the socket -- and I'm thinking your wiring guide might solve my problem. Then I can cut down my 6 total sockets for the 92 wiring down to 4.

Thanks for your help

Brian
